I was trying to understand why Governor R. Perry would announce his candidacy in South Carolina and not Texas. I think I know why. He is a part of the Koch brothers' agenda. Why do I say this? Well, Koch brothers' ideology used to be embedded in the south. Fortunately, there are people who no longer support this ideology and are pushing back. Now, as a nation, we need to push back and tell them we will not allow you to use your money to influence the way we think and live.

This video is the perfect example of how a community pushed back. I applaud and support you!

Everyone, heed the warning! The Koch brothers are coming to a town near you.

I am changing the focus of my blog. I have decided to use my it to voice my opinion on today's political climate. Why? Well, I am confused. I am not confused as to what I truly believe and feel but am confused about the validity of the information being disseminated.
I hope I don't offend anyone who is currently following my blog. I strongly feel I need a means to voice my political opinion.

Why are you against my profession?

Why are you against my profession? Why are you bashing my teacher association? Why are you advertising negativity against it? I have the right to belong to any organization /association of my choosing. I belong because the faith of my profession is determined by the actions of the state government so why are you against it.
Unfortunately I don't have the big bucks you have to change the course of history. I don't have the money you have to advertise negativity. I don't have the money you have to be a big bully. Yes, a bully. So, please tell me why you are against my association? Why are you against my profession?

Why are they bashing unions?

Last night, while watching R. Maddow, it all clicked. It clicked as to why Republicans want to abolish unions/associations. After watching the show it became apparent to me the Republicans in office owe the conservative groups a favor, or two. In order for the conservative groups to have political donation domination in the next election they need to abolish the unions/associations.

Well, here is how it goes. The Supreme Court ruling, which now allows groups to donate large amounts of money to political campaigns unknowingly to the public, has opened Pandora's Box. The evilness of political donation domination has begun. There are 7 strong conservative groups and 3 unions/associations on the top 10 list for political donations in the 2010 election. Well, I guess you know who the conservative groups supported in the 2010 election. The 3 unions/associations (AFSCME, NEA and SEIU) were the only liberal groups on the list. Yes, that is correct. The only 3 (I'm using numerals for emphasis). These groups generally support Democrats. Consider this point: If the 3 unions/associations (AFSCME, NEA, SEIU) are abolished then only the conservative groups are on the list. Hmmmmm! Total political donation domination.

This site Open Secrets.org , I found while reading Maddow Blog, shows outside spending for the last elections to prove I am not dreaming this stuff. You need to take a close look at the chart towards the bottom of the site titled:

Top Groups Making Outside Expenditures in 2010 Elections, Excluding Party Committees

It's not about the unions/associations. It's about political donation domination. Don't be fooled. I'm going to end this post for now so you can look closely at the site OpenSecrets.org. Be knowledgeable and be aware so we are prepared to stand up for what's right like they are doing in Wisconsin.

Save Texas Schools

My friend "mguhlin" in my plurk community shared the blog badge that can be added to your blogs. I encourage each and everyone of us to support their efforts. What is happening in Texas has and will continue to happen in our states across the country. We need to save education. We need to save our students. These cuts continue to tear away the great public school system we have throughout Texas and this great country.
Our country was built on the one room public school house that taught many students to read. Save our schools. Let's stand up for education in Texas and support education across all the States in this great country.

What is it? How is it used? When is it used? Why should it be used? Who should use it? Where do you find it? These questions can be asked about the emerging technologies and the ones people are currently using. What, when, why, who, how, and where? We asks these questions now just like people asked these questions when things were invented in the past.
Education asks these questions everyday. They are asked in the schools and admin buildings. What do we need to help our students achieve? How do we come to a happy medium between what network systems considers appropriate and what the educators want to use? Why do we need this tool over this one? Who should purchase then train everyone how to use? Where do we store it/lock it up? These technologies are available but until these questions are asked and answered the schools continue to be slow to implement.
Our students are digital natives. At home the same questions are asked then answered. What do we need to help our child achieve? (computer, online access, video gaming system with internet access, portable devices, cellphones)? How do we come to a happy medium between how to educate our digital natives (allow cellphones during instruction, allow students to have electronic devices at school)? Why do we need this tool (because my parents wanted, I got it for a present, it’s fun)? Who should purchase then train (my parents/grandparents, aunt/uncle; I don’t need training. I can figure it out myself)? Where do we keep it (in my child’s room, family room, it’s portable, not a school)?
As long as we continue to have questions without the answers, our students will be further ahead with the technology at home then at school. Let’s answer the questions and open the networks so we can teach our students the what, when, how, why, who, and where technology can best impact their learning since they already have the answers.

I opened the freezer today and saw the cake my daughter baked and decorated. Now, this cake has been in the freezer since our Christmas dinner. I don't use the freezer to the frig much which is why I didn't see it. I get my items to cook from the big freezer in the garage. I wonder if it is still edible. What do you think?

For some reason today at Church I misread the Church program. I turned to Psalm 3:1-8 (NIV) instead of Proverbs 3:1-10 (NIV). I came home and read both to see why.
